Author, illustrator, photographer, and artist

After 45 years at Yale University, I retired in 2016 to concentrate full-time on my book projects, photography, and oil painting.

Responsible for a range of communications projects, including digital video and other online media, social media, web communications, internal and external university communications projects and content for Yale University (2011 – 2016).

Director, Design and User Experience, Office of Public Affairs & Communications, Yale University

Responsible for a range of strategic and communications projects, including web infrastructure planning, content management, web communications, communications and user education on computing security, privacy, business operations, and portal interface design for Yale University, (2009 – 2011).

Director, Web Architecture and Technology Projects, Office of the ITS Director/CIO, Yale University

Responsible for a range of strategic and communications projects, including web infrastructure planning, content management, web emergency communications, communications and user education on computing security and privacy, and portal interface design for Yale University, (2005 – 2009).

Founding Director, along with Professor C. Carl Jaffe, MD, of the Yale the Center for Advanced Instructional Media (CAIM). CAIM was a collaboration of seven core faculty and staff members, in collaboration with many other faculty members of the Yale School of Medicine, charged with exploring the effectiveness of new computer and network-based teaching media in medical and continuing education, image databases, and other digital audiovisual media. CAIM published multimedia software on CD-ROMs and videodiscs, and created Web-based content for education, training, and continuing medical education. (1987-2002)

Diagnostic Radiology faculty appointment, made in recognition of the contributions to teaching and research in both Diagnostic Radiology and the the larger Yale School of Medicine communities, (1988 – 2002).

Director of a 22-member communications services department. Responsible for the operations, personnel, and finances of the School’s media services units: science graphics, medical illustration, biomedical photography, audiovisual services, and video production services, (1992-1993)

Responsible for the operations, personnel and budgeting of the department’s computer graphics section, and created the department’s audiovisual, multimedia, and graphic design sections. Responsible, under the Director of Biomedical Communications, for the operations of a department of 24 employees, (1985-1992)
